Schachter-Shalomi begins class twelve with a discussion of d'vekut, 'adhering' to God, and speaks briefly about Reb Menachem Mendel, the Kotzker Rebbe and Abraham Joshua Heschel's book, A Passion for Truth, comparing the Kotzker and the Christian philosopher, Soren Kierkegaard. He then answers questions on "Voiding Strange Thoughts" in Reb Arele Roth's Ani Ma'amim before playing the video A Life Apart: Hasidism in America by Menachem Daum.
