Scope and Contents
The International Moulders and Foundery Workers Union (IMFWU), Denver Local No. 188 held collective bargaining contracts with numerous Denver area employers utilizing cast iron in their manufacturing processes. The Local
has been disbanded, however its records were saved by the Denver Area Federation of Trades and Labor Assembly. Manuscript minutes of the Local 188 regular meetings are extant , with gaps, from 1878-1968. The most complete run of minutes extends from 1917-1978. Minutes also exist for the Local's Advisory Committee 1943-1945.
More voluminous are the membership records of the Local 188. Five boxes of ledgers and ledger pages list the status of each member: dues, initiation, suspension, honorary; 1880-1902, 1905-1970, 1974-1978. Treasurer's Account Books exist for the period 1904-1973, detailing monthly expenditures and receipts.
