Historical Note

The Office of Vice Chancellor for Academic Services for the Boulder Campus of the University of Colorado first appears in the University of Colorado Student Directory in 1979 as part of a general restructuring of the University of Colorado into a four campus system. The Office of Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Services for the Boulder Campus of University of Colorado first appears in the University of Colorado Student Directory in 1980. The University of Colorado was reorganized into four campuses in 1972, by Amendment 4 to the Colorado State Constitution. The University was allowed to create a multi-campus administration at Boulder, Colorado Springs, Denver, and the Health Science Center, each with its own chancellor.

The Vice Chancellor for Academic Services carries the responsibility for student affairs. The office provides services including admissions, counseling, financial aid, placement services, testing, intercollegiate athletics, housing, student activities and also University Memorial Center. The office of Vice President for Academic Services mostly provided information about student affairs. The Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Services helped Vice Chancellor for Academic Services to achieve the goals and performances. In 1979/80, James N. Corbridge was listed as Interim Vice Chancellor for Academic Services in the student directory. In 1980/81, James N. Corbridge was listed as Vice Chancellor for Academic Services in the student directory. In 1981/82, Kaye Howe was listed as Vice Chancellor for Academic Services in the student directory.
