Women's Coalition to End Pay Toilets Records
Scope and Contents
The Women’s Coalition to End Pay Toilets formed on July 16, 1974, to put an end to the discriminatory practice in Colorado of placing more pay toilets in women’s restrooms than in men’s. The organization organized a discrimination suit against the City and County of Denver under the Colorado Public Accommodations Act, a “stand-in” at the Stapleton Airport, a Colorado House of Representatives bill banning pay toilets, and press statements. This small collection primarily consists in financial records (of copying and other costs), membership records, records pertaining to the discrimination suit, newsletters, newspaper clippings, copies of proposed bills, and press statements. The collection is a small manuscript contained in one box.
