Biographical / Historical

Daniel Lea Yocom and Neal R. Yocom lived in Boulder around 1926 and were both associated with the Yocom Photo Shop. It wasn't until approximately 1951 that Daniel had his own business listed as the D.L. Yocom Studio on 1722 Broadway, Boulder, Colorado. By 1972 Daniel retired and the D.L. Yocom Studio changed to the D.L. Yocom Studio Inc. with B.L. Larsen as President, J.D. Larsen as Vice President and Stan Stack as Secretary.

Daniel L. Yocom was a photographer in Boulder, Colorado. This collection contains many images of University of Colorado Boulder buildings. It also has photographs of businesses and dwellings in Boulder, Colorado as well as scenic mountain images of Colorado.


The photographs in this collection were previously listed individually and numbered. This folder numbering system has been maintained but intellectually reorganized to aid in access. The collection is arranged in five series, three of which have been further arranged into subseries. When possible the titles with the same subject have been grouped together within the subseries then ordered numerically by folder number. The only exception to this is in the University of Colorado Boulder subseries "Buildings" and "Greek Societies" which have been alphabetized. The series and subseries arrangement of this collection is as follows: Series 1, General Series 2, Buildings Subseries 1, Bridges Subseries 2, Businesses Subseries 3, Dams Subseries 4, Dwellings Subseries 5, Power-plants Subseries 6, Schools Series 3, Landscapes Subseries 1, General Subseries 2, Cities and Towns Subseries 3, Mountains Series 4, Mining Series 5, University of Colorado Boulder Subseries 1, General Subseries 2, Buildings Subseries 2, Greek Societies
