Content Description
This collection includes 18 black & white photographs and a multi-page letter from Hazel Smith to her parents while spending the summer at the University of Colorado Boulder Geology Camp based in Nederland, Colorado during the summer of 1922. This camp was the precursor to the Mountain Research Station. The letter describes the Science Lodge, and hikes around the area to places such as Niwot Ridge, Silver Lake, and Arapahoe Glacier.
