Abstract
The working files of the Colorado Association of School Boards from 1940-1960 which comprises fourteen (14) manuscript boxes. Organized for the purpose of improving the efficiency of and effectiveness of public schools and public education in Colorado, the files over CASB correspondence, financial records, membership records, committees, conventions, state and district school boards, and legislative efforts.

Biographical / Historical
The Colorado Association of School Boards, CASB was first organized in January 1940, with a charter membership of nine (9) Colorado districts. The Association represents local school boards at both state and national levels it represents school boards on various educational committees, and at educational meetings. The purpose of the CASB is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public schools and public education.
The Association publishes the Colorado School Board Bulletin, holds annual conventions and regional conferences, offers field service reaching each district, and cooperates with the State Board of Education in seeking realistic solutions to school problems. This office was located in Boulder until the summer of 1971, when it moved to Denver in order to be closer to the functions of state government.
