Biographical Note

Carrie Mae Farrington was born 1878 and married Fred Ira Craver (1875-1914) in 1895. The Cravers moved to Elkhart, Kansas in approximately 1909, a town 3 miles from Oklahoma and 1 mile from Colorado. Carrie Craver had two daughters, Edith Craver (later Ogden) and Grace Pearl Craver (later Small) (1896-1996).

Grace married Sherman Curtis Small (1894-1974) in 1915 and had three sons and one daughter, Bonnie Illa Small (later Hutchins), who was born in 1917. The Small family came to Colorado in approximately 1918 and first lived in Las Animas County. Bonnie Small married Kimball Fredrick Hutchins (1911-1990) and later became a librarian at the Paonia Public Library in Paonia, Colorado. She died in 1996.

Processing Information

This collection was originally erroneously titled "Carrie M. Cramer and Grace Cramer Small collection." The title and all corresponding biographical information in this finding aid was revised in September 2020 to correctly identify the creators and subjects of the collection as Carrie Farrington Craver and Grave Craver Small.
