Ely Cathedral, 1875 - 1885

Scope and Contents

Photo taken inside Ely Cathedral, located in Ely, Cambridgeshire England. Heavily influenced in Romanesque style architecture. Ely Cathedral has its origins in 672AD when St Etheldreda built an abbey church. The present building dates back to 1083, and it was granted cathedral status in 1109. Photo is not mounted and has a stamp on the back of a copyright notice " Photochrom CO." Printed on the bottom left of the photo reads "33603. Ely Cathedral. C.N.

Single photograph card of the Royal Hand-Bell Ringers; consisting of five men, when they performed in front of Queen Victoria on Poland Street, London, England. Back of the photograph is stamped with the name of the group, where they performed and a list of the royal family members in attendance of other performances, and the conductors of the group. Photo is in good shape with all parts viewable.
